Cheryl King and I have been friends now since 2003, when we met. It was an instant friendship that has grown steadily. We are now engaged in a collaborative effort - to complete and to promote our mutual and individual projects, which are:
1. Arturo's Window, co-written by Cheryl King and Rod Menzies, based on material contributed by me
2. Remembering With Hope, co-written by myself, John Jerome, and Betsy Gilbert
3. WOCHA, Women of Color Health Awareness, which is currently an information website that will soon be a nonprofit organization. I am the founder, spokesman and a member of the advisory board. Cheryl King is the treasurer.
Cheryl and I communicate on a regular basis on all these projects, and we read the blogs daily (except for holidays).
Lately we have been responding to some questions presented on the blogs.
I has also been responding to some emails sent to me via the websites.
These emails are growing in number, and though I would like to respond to them all, I do not have the time.
We are creating FAQ (Frequently Asked Question) pages for all three sites that will address some of the more typical questions we are getting.
I am not yet a social worker or a licensed therapist, so there are some questions that I will not answer. Instead, I will refer people to professionals who can help, and who can be relied on to be discreet.
We will NOT be answering questions that will be covered in the play or the book. You'll have to either buy the book or see the play to get those answers. That makes sense, right?
We WILL be answering questions like where to get help with:
1. HIV, Hep C and STD testing
2. Domestic abuse issues
3. Sexual abuse issues
But in the cases where I CAN answer, I will try to, either in person or on the FAQ. Sometimes I may decide that Cheryl could give a better answer to a question, due to her being a woman, or being straight, or simply having a different history from which to respond.
When it comes to abuse, both emotional and sexual, I do not claim a monopoly.

Cheryl and I have much in common, and these days it includes our powerful interest in these websites, and the discussions they are provoking.
I hope you will read the FAQ pages, after we get them up, and that you'll let us know how we can improve them, or if they help you at all.
